An exceptional pair of 19th-century English Rococo Revival candelabras, richly detailed and attributed to Mappin & Co., one of the most celebrated silvermakers of the Victorian era. These tall, sculptural pieces feature sweeping "branch" arms, grape-and-vine ornamentation, and elegant rococo scrollwork throughout - hallmarks of the firm's most luxurious electroplate designs.
Each candelabra rests on a tripod adorned with an intricately engraved heraldic coat of arms, including the motto "Spes Consilium" and the banner "London & Co.", consistent with Mappin's mid-century branding. The craftsmanship, weight, and detailing reflect the firm's reputation for producing high-quality silver-plate pieces for both aristocratic households and fine retailers in London.
